...as briefly told by Fred Hall, a founding member...
"I met Anne Black and Mike Jensen at a restaurant for breakfast before I led a meteorite hunting trip to find some Johnstown meteorite. While seated in the restaurant, I mentioned that I was thinking of starting a meteorite club in Colorado. Mike and Anne looked at each other and Mike turned to me and said 'We were thinking of doing the same!'
or something close to that. Mike started up the Yahoo site and we soon held our first meeting." That was in the year 2000.
What do we do?
It's all about meteorites. We collect them, look for them, read about them, dream about them... you name it, we do it. We try to meet once a month so we can swap stories, have a "show'n'tell" with the goodies that we have acquired (found or purchased), talk about what's going on in the meteorite world and just have a good time with fellow meteorite enthusiasts and friends.
Want to become a member?
Joining the club is very easy. Just join our Yahoo group (free) and show up to a meeting. :-) We are a very informal club that doesn't have any dues. If you like what you see, keep coming back! We now have our meetings almost every 2nd Sunday of each month.
See when our next meeting will be!
Send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
